Prospect Park’s Digital Transformation: A Model for Modern Municipalities

Small towns often face uphill battles delivering modern services. In Prospect Park, however, digital innovation has become the cornerstone of transformation.

Facing outdated systems and increasing demands, the borough made strategic moves to modernize: digitizing operations, launching a cloud-based government management system, introducing a resident app (“MyProspectPark”), and redesigning its website for streamlined access.

The app allows users to report issues, apply for permits, access policies, and more—all from their phones. The updated website complements this by enabling residents to complete tasks in two clicks or fewer.

Prospect Park also became the first New Jersey town to digitize all borough records—thanks to partners like Foveonics and Quikteks—freeing up staff resources and increasing efficiency. The vision doesn’t stop there. Plans include borough-wide Wi-Fi, staff mobility tools like tablets, and future-proof cloud infrastructure.

The result: a digitally empowered, resident-first government model that balances physical and digital infrastructure. Prospect Park’s transformation proves that even small municipalities can lead the way in smart, sustainable governance.
